Power to Help Fund to Support Swish-Out Childhood Cancer Challenge

Electricity Maine through the Power to Help Fund will be a lead sponsor of 2014 Swish-Out Cancer Challenge.  2014 marks the 20th anniversary of the 3-on-3, co-ed benefit basketball tournament that raises money and awareness of the Maine Children’s Cancer Program. The Maine Credit Union League organizes the event and covers all tournament expenses enabling every penny raised through fees and sponsorships to go directly to the program.

Electricity Maine’s sponsorship will support the Swish and Junior Swish events on January 26, 2014.

“The Swish-Out Childhood Cancer Challenge is the longest-continuous running, 3-on-3 benefit basketball tournament in Maine.  Thanks to the support of participants and sponsors, the event continues to grow each year.  We are thrilled to have Electricity Maine’s Power To Help Fund as a major, new supporter.  We appreciate the Power To Help Fund’s significant commitment to this event and to children with cancer and their families throughout Maine and parts of New Hampshire.  100% of this sponsorship will go directly to making a difference in the lives of patients and families and that is pretty special.  This is a really exciting new partnership,” stated Jon Paradise, Founder of the Swish-Out and Junior Swish-Out Childhood Cancer Challenge.

As part of the Provide Power family of companies,  Electricity Maine and ENH Power’s mission is to strengthen community by providing competitive electricity rates on the supply portion of their utility bills while partnering with, and providing resources to, non-profit organizations that create positive change in New Hampshire and Maine.

Through the Power to Help Fund the companies have contributed thousands of dollars to Maine and New Hampshire community organizations and employees have provided hundreds of volunteer hours.
